Boy Oh Boy is it busy. Firstly we must congratulate all our staff here on the way they have been working recently. It is not easy effecting household and office removals in this heat. But, despite the sweltering temperatures there have been no moans, and no loss of work ethic.
Top Draw - Excellent.
What do we have to report? Well, in truth not a lot. We have actually been too busy to develop anything further! The fleet that we put together during the downturn has proven to be a wise move. Plus we are so glad that returning customers are commenting upon the renovation work we carried out at our premises.
However, we do not sit still, and we do not rest. We are already planning our activities for any quiet days that appear.
We do of course welcome back Richard. After 15 months away old differences have been overcome and Richard has made a return to the fold. Van Packer extrordinaire that he is. He has been back in the fold for a few weeks and is settling in nicely. You can see a non company photo of him on the meet the team page! thats all that will be said for now
As we do not have anything new to report, here is a photograph of Paul and Martin, stressed, overworked, and struggling to continue in the heat

Not 100% certain that the latest news page is the right place for this......A lady called Jayne, from the Coventry area recently has had a truly awful experience with a firm of removers. The move was abroad, but her experience, and the lessons she has learnt are worth reading. No matter if you are moving to the Algarve, or just 3 miles away.
She wrote on www.britishexpats.com and has given M&G Transport Ltd permission to copy her post onto our site. We have nothing to add, and no comment that we need to make. Her words and advice are worth reading: ------------------------------------------------------------- I do not think that it matters where you move to and from as far as luck and treatment goes. I know of someone that moved within the UK at Christmas, used a well known company and they broke a mirror during the move. They accepted at the time it was damaged when moved but are now refusing to replace the item and pay out. So it is not unique.
If I was in the situation of having to use a removal company again I would be a lot more vigilant, ask for their V.O.S.A. operators licence details and check that they have the appropriate licence for use, example- if they are going to Europe it has to be an international operators licence, if they get stopped and checked and do not hold the appropriate licences it could be your stuff that is impounded while they sort the fines out, Make sure that any company is aware of the potential weight you are taking as places like Spain and France are tending to stop overweight vehicles, fining them and also what then happens to the stuff that has been offloaded while they check the vehicle out and what happens to the stuff left over, also ask if they are vat/business registered with H.M.R.C. this will at least offer you peace of mind that they are a legitimate company and if they are cowboys they will run a mile. Make a note of the vehicles reg number and clarify how many people deal with your goods.
Always get the insurance details up front as they are less likely to want to give them to you after something goes wrong and if possible contact the insurance company to confirm that they have a policy as taking them to court with a solicitor can cost thousands.
Websites can be deceptive and testimonials are only ego boost to the firm as if they have given bad service or damaged anything they are not going to post it, so of course they have never had a problem and you can not prove otherwise.
Ask if they are affiliated to any professional body like the B.A.R. although many are pay your fee and your a member, it at least it gives you somewhere to start if anything goes wrong.
Take pictures during the upload and also of anything that is of value such as laptops, jewellery and sentimental objects, I know companies say take it in your car but that is not always possible.
It May be worth contacting local removal companies although they may not be specialists in intercontinental removals they may be able to do it or tell you where to go.
Since the start of our troubles it is amazing how many other ex pat·s have told us they had stuff missing or damaged during transit but were unable to do anything about it as the get out clauses are the size of America and to pursue it legally with a solicitor may cost £10.000 and over so it is not always worth the stress and cost for potentially a fail depending on the judge. You can pursue it through the small claims court if they are British company but this is often a frightening prospect and limited to £5000.
Until someone takes a stand or it is regulated I will not be the last to have problems. ---------------------------------------------------------------------
This company could not agree more.

Still in keeping with the European side of things getting moving again we welcomed back Mark and Paul from Portugal last week. The successfully relocated a lady and gentleman from Henley In Arden to a wonderful village near the West coast. Unfortunately as the weather was horrible they did not feel inclined to take many photographs! So, heere is one, taken in Santander at the dock.

Its all still very busy. This last week of April is proving to be one of our busiest weeks in history.
Last week Mark and Matt completed in record time a removal into Italy for a lady from the West Midlands. There are a couple of photos in the Europe Moves page but here is Matt, stood by our vehicle somewhere in Central Italy.

Welcome to the latest news page. Things are certainly gathering momentum.
Our quotations and enquiries have consistently reached just over two thirds of the level they were at in 2006 and the numbers are increasing all the time.
Solihull Storage has completed the refurbishment of its reception area. The ·free transport· offer is still running and customers are continuing to take advantage of it. We thought we would cancel this while the market was flat but even now that it has increased considerably we though we would leave the offer running as it has proven so popular and useful.
Redditch Storage still has a fantastic suite of offices available as well as individual offices. Please contact Maureen on 01527 521 066 for more details. All come with scenic views and free secure parking.
M&G Transport is moving quickly to increase in size to keep pace with the market. As many customers know the fleet was updated and renewed last year along with the taking on of new staff. Over the last year we have welcomed Matt, Lee, Martin, Anthony and Gary on board. Of varying ages and experience they are all proving to be some of the best ever removalists we have had the pleasure of employing.
The latest addition to the fleet is here. Not yet given a name, we picked her up last week and work has started. Here she is

She is a very very big girl indeed. At over 40ft long she is the largest removal vehicle we have ever had on the fleet.
Her purchase has been prompted by the recent upturn in enquiries for moves abroad. Our previous flagship vehicle built for dedicated runs throughout Europe was the fatcat. Pictured here near Javea, Spain
However when moves abroad tailed off she was sold. We currently have moves sheduled for Italy and Portugal and last week relocated a gentleman from Rugby to France. Moreover the enquiries are still flooding in.
Ebay: Our ebay sales are picking up pace. We retail packaging materials. We threatened a return and indeed we have. Just search ebay shops for mgtransport and you will find us.
That is it for now. Thanks for reading and we look forward to hearing from you.
